The Jr.Sabres are off to a great start to the season as they currently sit in 3rd place in the conference with wins against some of the top teams in the OJHL. This is in large part to the play of their rookies such as Joey Banas, Sawyer Schmidt, and Braden Guolla. When it comes to leading the charge, no one does it quite like Joey Banas. He leads the team in points, goals, power play goals, and game winning goals. He currently is fourth in the league in scoring (14 goals and 22 assists) and leads all rookies in scoring.
Monday it was announced that Banas has signed a deal to play with the Brantford Bulldogs next season in the OHL. We can’t wait to see how he finishes the season with us and what he does in the OHL next year with Brantford. Good luck the rest of this season and beyond!
