The Buffalo Jr. Sabres are proud to congratulate defenseman Evan Bennett on his commitment to play NCAA Division III hockey at Salem State University beginning in the 2016-2017 season.
The 20-year-old Kalamazoo, Michigan native just finished up his rookie season in the OJHL with the Jr. Sabres.
Bennett recorded 95 penalty minutes in 50 games, also putting up 12 points (3-9).
He registered five points on special teams, and two of his three goals were game-winning tallies.
Bennett’s rookie season was highlighted by several two-game point streaks.
The Mattawan High School graduate also plays lacrosse and previously played hockey with the Minnesota Iron Rangers of the SIJHL.
He’ll now go on to play for the Salem State University Vikings.
This past season, the team went 22-6, including 16-2 in conference play.
Congratulations, Evan!
