(Oakville, ON) – The Buffalo Jr. Sabres, who tooked advantage of a slow period in their schedule to rest some banged up players, began a busy stretch of three games in four nights but did so on a losing note, falling 4-0 in Oakville against the host Blades.
Brandon Denham, Tyler Karius, Jordan Coccimiglio and Conor McGlynn scored the hosts’ goals. After a xscoreless first period, Denham’s goal came on the Blades only power play opportunity of the night. In fact, the power plays were mostly in Buffalo’s favor, but the Jr. Sabres could not capitalize on their six opportunities.
James Prigione stopped all 27 Buffalo shots while Jr. Sabres netminder Curran McNamara turned aside 29 Oakville shots.
The Jr. Sabres return to action tonight in Burlington against the Cougars.
