The Buffalo Jr. Sabres will face the Burlington Cougars in round one of the Buckland Cup Playoffs, which begin Wednesday, February 27.
The Jr. Sabres (27-17-2-8) finished second in the OJHL’s West Division, five points ahead of the Cougars (27-22-3-2).
Buffalo will open the playoff series at home, with a 7:30 p.m. puck drop on Wednesday, February 27 at HARBORCENTER. Home has been kind to Buffalo this season, as they went 17-6-1-3 on home ice.

The Jr. Sabres finished the regular season last Wednesday with a 5-1 loss to the Brantford 99ers. The Cougars’ last game of the season was an 8-1 routing of the Stouffville Spirit.
Buffalo and Burlington saw a lot of each other in the regular season. The Jr. Sabres went 3-2-1 against the Cougars in the regular season, including most recently a 6-2 win on December 21. The games were a mixed bag; two were decided by just one goal, but the others were all decided by three or more goals.
Players to watch for Buffalo: Adam Tretowicz (60 points), Ty Glover (19 goals), Declan McDonnell (31 assists). Players to watch for Burlington: Matthew Steen (54 points), Keanan Stewart (50 points), Michael Boushy (total, 45 points).
