The Buffalo Jr. Sabres would like to congratulate captain Alec Cicero, who recently announced his commitment to play college hockey at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.

Cicero will join the Crusaders beginning in fall 2020 as part of Atlantic Hockey.

Cicero, 18, made his Ontario Junior Hockey League debut last season. As a rookie, he put up 30 points, including 17 goals, in 54 games. As a result of his leadership both on and off the ice, he was named team captain heading into his sophomore season.

So far this season, Cicero has averaged more than a point-per-game, with 36 points, including 16 goals, in just 28 games. The Williamsville native has scored two game-winning goals and has been a significant contributor on the power play, with 1/3 of his points coming on the man advantage this season.

Cicero recently had an impressive 11-game point streak from November 13 to December 13. He has recorded two hat tricks this season, including his first in the OJHL on September 25 in a 6-0 win over Brampton. He had another hat trick in a 5-3 victory over Brantford on November 27.

Prior to joining the OJHL, Cicero played in the Buffalo Jr. Sabres organization, including the organization’s 16U, 15U and bantam major teams.
