(Burlington, ON) – Cooper Richards’ three goals led the Burlington Cougars’ offense, as the hosts handed the Buffalo Jr. Sabres a 6-3 defeat.
Derek Patterson scored for Buffalo in the first period, with Larry Smith adding a goal in the second, followed by Jake Ledyard scoring in the third. All three goals came on the power play.
Also scoring for the hosts were Cole McKnight, Slater Doggett and Connor McLoughlin.
Goaltender Curran McNamara was registered with the loss, though shots on goal were not immediately available via Pointstreak. Braden Mann earned the win for the Cougars.
Buffalo travels Monday to Hamilton to face the Red Wings, who trail the third place Jr. Sabres by just five points in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s West Division. The game at the Dave Andreychuk (Mountain) Arena begins at 7:30pm.
