(Amherst, NY) – For the Buffalo Junior Sabres, this year’s Thanksgiving will be a working holiday with a road game in Newmarket. While members of the Jr. Sabres would prefer being home and enjoying a day off, the team is taking it in stride and note that, in fairness, a Canadian team had to spend its Thanksgiving on the road when the Georgetown Raiders visited the Northtown Center back on October 10.
Still, we took some time to poll members of the franchise what makes them feel thankful this holiday. Here are some of the responses we got…
“Well, I’d say I’m most thankful for my family and how fortunate we are and I’m thankful for the opportunity to continue playing hockey.” – Forward Mark Arnone
“I am thankful for all the effort the coaches and everyone in the association puts in to help us have a great season.” – Defenseman Jake Ledyard
“I am thankful for my parents. Thankful for them helping me pursue my dream and everything they do for me. I am also thankful for the opportunity to play hockey here in North America for the Jr. Sabres.” – Forward Jonas Fredrikkson
“I’m most thankful for family, friends and a healthy bunch of Jr. Sabres!” – Cary Munschauer, team trainer
From all of us at the Junior Sabres to all of our families, fans and supporters, we wish you a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
