(Georgetown, ON) – Make that seven shutouts for Parker Gahagen.

The Junior Sabres’ top netminder earned his latest shutout on the road Saturday night, turning aside 33 shots as Buffalo blanked the host Georgetown Raiders, 3-0, to gain two points on the second place Raiders in the OJHL West Division.

After a scoreless first period, Buffalo’s Tyler Gjurich completed a two-on-one break at the 3:26 mark of the second period by firing home his 28th goal of the season, assisted by Ryan Schmelzer and Tony DeVito.   Nolan Sheeran quickly made it 2-0 in favor of Buffalo, scoring at the 4:42 mark, assisted by Josh Kielich.  The goal was Sheeran’s 10th goal of the season.  Then, with Buffalo on the power play, Gjurich scored his second goal of the game and his 29th goal of the year, assisted by Josh Kielich and Sean Federow.

While Gahagen (file photo courtesy OJHL Images) stopped all 33 shots faced, Buffalo put a total of 29 shots on the Georgetown net.

The Jr. Sabres will return to action on Sunday afternoon at Milton, where they’ll face the Icehawks in a matinee game that begins at 3:30pm.  It will be the team’s second game in a road swing that will see Buffalo play three games in three days.
