(Milton, ON) – Parker Gahagen stopped 23 shots, including 11 in a busier third period, and recorded his sixth shutout of the season while his Buffalo Junior Sabres teammates poured on the offense in their 8-0 blowout of the Icehawks at the Milton Memorial Arena on Friday evening.
Tyler Gjurich scored his 25th goal of the season and what proved to be the game winning goal at the 17:20 mark of the first period. He score his 26th goal of the season as well. Ryan Schmelzer also scored twice, while Ryall Ledyard, Pat Egan, Nathan Pelligra and newly called up Frank Hora all added single goals. Hora, who was called up from the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 18U (Buffalo Regals) squad, also recorded an assist on Schmelzer’s second goal of the game.
Ben Casale was also productive, with the defenseman adding three assists to an offense that put 48 shots on the Milton net.
Buffalo returns to action on Saturday night at the Mastercard Centre in downtown Toronto, where they’ll face the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots.
