(Brampton, ON) – Josh Kielich and Max Mikowski (photo) scored just 18 seconds apart in the first period along the way to the Buffalo Junior Sabres’ 3-1 win over their hosts, the Brampton Capitals.
Kielich’s goal came at the 16:07 mark of the opening period while Mikowski followed up at the 16:25 mark. Trevor Hunt put the home team on the scoreboard at the 2:30 mark of the second period but Buffalo’s Shane Bennett responded in the third period with a power play at the 11:34 mark.
Curran McNamara, in his first start in goal for the Jr. Sabres, stopped 20 shots while Capitals netminder Stormer Santana stopped 40 Buffalo shots.
The Jr. Sabres return to action Monday night on home ice against the Orangeville Flyers, with the opening faceoff scheduled for 7:30pm.

In game-related notes, Buffalo defenseman Jake Ledyard is expected to sit out Monday night’s game against Orangeville. He’ll face a one-game ban as a result of tonight’s fight with Brampton’s Cody Forigione in the third period.
