Jr. Sabres fall in Burlington, 3-1

(Burlington, ON) – Buffalo opened the scoring on a power play goal by Rocky Guttadauria, but the host Burlington Cougars cashed in on three of their own extra-man opportunities, handing the visiting Junior Sabres a 3-1 defeat.

Shane Conacher, Justin Scott and Mark Rodgers recorded the hosts’ power play goals.  Buffalo’s Parker Gahagen stopped 22 shots while Cougar counterpart Braden Mann turned aside 35 Jr. Sabre shots.

The Jr. Sabres return to action on home ice Monday night, hosting the Brampton Capitals beginning at 7:30pm.  The game is “Teddy Bear Toss” night, during which fans are asked to bring a new and unwrapped teddy bear to toss on the ice after Buffalo scores its first goal.  Bears collected will be distributed by the Buffalo Sabres Alumni Association to children of needy Western New York families.
