Jr. Sabres Place 10th in Latest CJHL Ranking

(Amherst, NY) – The Canadian Junior Hockey League, an organization that oversees ten Canadian Junior “A” hockey leagues, places the Buffalo Junior Sabres at #10 in its latest Top 20 nationwide ranking released today, November 26, 2012.

This is an improvement from the previous two weeks for the Jr. Sabres, who compete in the Ontario Junior Hockey League and were ranked 12th in last week’s CJHL list after debuting at #11 on November 12.

Helping to boost their standing in the CJHL Top 20 was a 6-0 victory over the Milton Icehawks on Friday, November 23.  Friday’s win was also the sixth shutout of the season for Jr. Sabres goaltender Parker Gahagen.

The CJHL, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, is an organization that oversees ten Canadian junior hockey leagues including the OJHL.  The CJHL’s roles include development of consistent rules and discipline protocols among its leagues and determining an annual Canadian Junior “A” national champion.  Their Top 20 ranking is assembled with the assistance of the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting.  The latest ranking can be seen at this link: http://cjhlhockey.com/news/news_detail.html?newsID=508

In the meantime, the Jr. Sabres return to game action tonight, when they host the Mississauga Chargers in OJHL action at the Northtown Center at Amherst, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive (between Maple & Millersport) beginning at 7:30pm.
