(Amherst, NY) – The Buffalo Jr. Sabres regained first place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League by one point thanks to a 6-2 win over the Milton Icehawks, Wednesday evening at the Northtown Center at Amherst.
The OJHL’s leading scorer, Tyler Gjurich, scored twice and notched his 39th and 40th goals of the season, while Brian Ruff also scored twice. David Seward opened the scoring for Buffalo while Pat Egan completed Buffalo’s scoring with his third period tally. Parker Gahagen stopped 33 shots to earn his 24th win of the season.

NOTES: Buffalo forward Nathan Pelligra is currently enjoying a six-game point scoring streak, continuing that streak on Wednesday with two assists… Jr. Sabres assistant general manager Pat Fisher was tapped earlier this week to serve as assistant coach for the Buffalo Sabres’ 12U entry at the Quebec International Pee Wee Tournament next month in Quebec City. The “Jr. Sabres 12U” squad, made up of players from the Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse areas, is coached by former NHL player Rory Fitzpatrick.
