Jr. Sabres Sweep Home-and-Home with Blades

(Amherst, NY) – Parker Gahagen (in photo) earned his second consecutive shutout on home ice, his fourth shutout of the season, as the Buffalo Jr. Sabres defeated the Oakville Blades, 4-2, at the Northtown Center at Amherst.

Tyler Gjurich and Ryall Ledyard both scored twice.  Ledyard opened the scoring with a power play goal at the 13:36 mark of the first period, assisted by Brian Ruff and Sean Federow.  Gjurich made it 2-0 in favor of the hosts just a couple of minutes later with his first goal, assisted by David Seward and Ryan Schmelzer.

Gjurich scored his second goal midway through the second period on a power play.  Ledyard scored his second goal in the third period.

Along the way it was a penalty-filled contest with two fights in the second period and a total 81 minutes between the teams, with Oakville getting 51 of them for infractions including abuse of officials.

The Jr. Sabres return to action on Thursday night at home against the Georgetown Raiders, who hold second place in the OJHL West and trail Buffalo but hold five games in hand.
