Jr. Sabres To Be Featured on TV’s “Sports Rap”

(Amherst, NY) – The Buffalo Junior Sabres will be featured among the topics on the next episode of “Sports Rap” on WBBZ-TV, which will be broadcast on Tuesday, October 2 beginning at 7:00pm.

Larry Playfair, team president, is scheduled to speak with host Bob Koshinski.  They’re expected to discuss the history of the team as well as its ongoing mission to develop elite amateur players for consideration by higher levels of hockey.  it’s also an opportunity for the team to pitch itself as an ideal option for Buffalo hockey fans frustrated by the ongoing National Hockey League lockout and searching for a good quality alternative.

WBBZ-TV is available in the Buffalo area on Channel 5 for Time Warner, Verizon FIOS and Dish Network subscribers.  For DirecTV customers or over-the-air viewers, WBBZ-TV is available on Channel 67.

Next Tuesday’s scheduled segment is the latest of several media mentions of the Jr. Sabres.  In recent days, the team was also spotlighted by television stations WGRZ, WKBW and YNN.  Furthermore, Jr. Sabres assistant general manager Pat Fisher spoke about the team on the radio airwaves earlier this week as a guest on Sabres Hockey Hotline, hosted by Kevin Sylvester, which airs on WGR SportsRadio 550.
