The Buffalo Jr. Sabres have now won four straight games on home ice, dating back to October 2. With a 3-1 win over the Brantford 99ers on Wednesday night, the Jr. Sabres earned two points, while several players continued point streaks of their own.

Matteo Costantini, who opened the scoring for Buffalo with just over 13 minutes remaining in the first period, and on the power play, extended his point streak to three games. Costantini has four points in that stretch, including three goals.

With an assist on the opening goal, alternate captain Ryan Pitoscia also extended his point streak to three games (1g, 3a).

Several minutes later, captain Alec Cicero scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season to make it 2-0. Cicero also now has a three-game point streak going, with two goals and two assists since October 16.

Before the first period was over, Logan Tobias potted his second goal of the season to make it 3-0 in favor of the Jr. Sabres. Alternate captain Jeremy Swartz recorded an assist, his first point of the season. Overall, Buffalo outshot Brantford 14-3 in the first period.

The 99ers got one back midway through the second period, on a goal from Lucas Thompson.

Several penalties were handed out over the course of the middle frame, giving each team a chance on the man advantage as player after player was sent off on roughing calls. Ultimately, the teams headed to their respective locker rooms after forty minutes with the Jr. Sabres holding onto a 3-1 lead, and outshooting Brantford by a 23-14 margin.

Through a penalty-filled third period, the Jr. Sabres held on. Tyler McNeil added an empty-net goal to seal the 4-1 victory. Luke Pavicich finished the game with 22 saves, while Colton Incze made 33 saves.

Buffalo now has a week until its next game; the Jr. Sabres host the Pickering Panthers on Wednesday, October 30 for a 7:45 pm puck drop at Harborcenter to close out the month.
