(Amherst, NY) – Former Buffalo Junior Sabres defenseman Jacob Ledyard is off to college this fall – on an academic scholarship.
Ledyard tells www.buffalojuniorsabres.com he’ll enroll at Niagara University this fall and was invited to try out for the Purple Eagles as a walk-on, but has opted to “take it easy” and play for Niagara’s club team next season. He has not yet declared a major, but hinted he’s pondering a choice between business or hotel management.
In his two seasons with the Jr. Sabres, Ledyard appeared in a total of 88 regular season games, scoring 18 goals and 20 assists while racking up 248 minutes in penalties.
Ledyard did come back to take advantage of some ice time with the junior team recently, filling in at one of the team’s recent tryout sessions. His physical presence and hard shot from the point will be a fine addition to Niagara’s club program. We wish Jake all the best in his future plans!
