(Amherst, NY) – General Manager/Head Coach Michael Peca was looking on. So, too, were every assistant coach and others on the Buffalo Junior Sabres staff. And so were parents, friends and loved ones. An estimated 100 players, dressed in six different jersey colors, skated over two days as the Jr. Sabres opened their Spring 2012 Tryout/Evaluation Camp.
The first weekend was set exclusively for prospects. Nearly a half-dozen players from the Jr. Sabres’ 2011-2012 squad served as bench coaches. They and other veteran players will join those who make the cut at next weekend’s sessions, Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28.
The list of prospects who will be invited back for additional sessions will be posted in our Tryouts 2012-13 section at 3:00pm on Monday, April 23.
