(Amherst, NY) – It might not have been hockey that counted toward the Ontario Junior Hockey League standings, but the Jr. Sabres took part in some competitive yet fun hockey over the weekend while, importantly, staying sharp during a long layoff.
The team took part in small-ice games as part of their practice Saturday afternoon at the Northtown Center at Amherst.
“It was a chance for the whole team to relax while enjoying some competition,” said head coach Grant Ledyard, who took the opportunity to suit up and skate with the eventual champions of the day, the red squad.
The team returns to league play Tuesday evening when they host the Brampton Capitals at the Northtown Center at Amherst, beginning at 7:30pm.
