Brady leads Kingston over Buffalo, 7-4

Adam Brady had four goals and one assist to lead the Kingston Voyageurs to a 7-4 victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

Brady notched his first tally 4:41 into the first period. He then added goals at 6:46 into the first, at 15:39 into the second, and at 15:42 into the third.

 

Kingston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 22 penalty minutes.

The Voyageurs forced Buffalo’s goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, taking 46 shots and forcing 39 saves. Nate Skidmore made 35 stops and Alex Connal made four. Kingston bested its season scoring average. This season, the Voyageurs average 3.8 goals per contest.

Kingston also got points from Alex Stothart, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Kingston also had goals scored by Adam Moodie and Cole Bolton, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Joey Beaudoin and Colin Tonge, who each chipped in one and Ryan WatsonMichael Crocock, and Joey Rutkowski, who contributed two each.

The Jr. Sabres were led by Zach Evancho, who registered one goal and one assist. Evancho scored 18:28 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Kingston. Chris Moses assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Buffalo included Tim NicksicNico Gonzalez, and Ryan Kuhn, who scored one goal each. More assists for Buffalo came via Christopher BergerJosh GabrielTim KielichDan DeFranco, and Justin Cmunt, who each chipped in one.

Matt Penta recorded 15 saves for Kingston. The Voyageurs registered two goals on five power play opportunities. For Kingston, Bolton was ejected from the game. Buffalo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
