The Buffalo Jr. Sabres’ Ryan Kuhn scored 29 seconds into overtime to beat the Aurora Tigers, 4-3 (OT).
Buffalo was led by Kuhn, who racked up one goal.
The Jr. Sabres’ offense rang up 34 shots on Aurora’s net.
Buffalo additionally got points from Zach Evancho, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Buffalo included Christopher Berger and Chris Moses, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Josh Gabriel, who had three and Tim Nicksic, Wilson Vershay, and Bray Crowder, who each chipped in one.
Buffalo was unable to stop the Tigers from sending pucks towards the net, and Aurora eventually piled up 32 shots on goal.
The Tigers were led by Nicholas Erb, who registered one goal and one assist. Erb scored on the power play 19:54 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Aurora. Aurora had gained a power play chance when Crowder was whistled for high sticking. Cameron Morrison assisted on the tally. Aurora also had goals scored by Noah Delmas and Taylor Joseph, who each put in one. In addition, Aurora received assists from Sam Quaranta, who had one and Daniel Mantenuto, who had two.
Alex Connal recorded 29 saves for the Jr. Sabres. Buffalo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Tigers’ Andy Munroe stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Aurora incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
