Buffalo holds on for 3-2 win against Toronto Patriots

The Toronto Patriots Patriots tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Buffalo Jr. Sabres held on for a 3-2 victory.

A goal by Ryan Kuhn put Buffalo up 3-1 in the third period, but Toronto Patriots pulled to within one on Jeremy Pullara‘s tally 9:36 into the third period.

 

The Jr. Sabres were sparked by Kuhn, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Kuhn scored on the power play 1:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Buffalo. Ben Casale provided the assist.

Buffalo could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 18 minutes in penalties during the game.

Others who scored for Buffalo included Christopher Berger and Josh Gabriel, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Aaron ReinigTim NicksicDavid Baskerville, and Justin Cmunt, who each chipped in one.

The Patriots’ offense rang up 34 shots on the Jr. Sabres’ net. Toronto Patriots was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 18 penalty minutes.

Toronto Patriots also got a goal from Jacob Hayhurst as well. In addition, Toronto Patriots received assists from Louis DiMatteo, who had two and Ryall Ledyard and Niko Kovachis, who contributed one each.

Nate Skidmore recorded 32 saves for Buffalo. The Jr. Sabres registered two goals on six power play opportunities. Mathew Robson made 24 saves for the Patriots on 27 shots. Toronto Patriots registered two goals on eight power play opportunities.
