Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but Jr. Sabres management expressed their excitement about the acquisition.

Jr. Sabres general manager Charlie Mendola stated on his Twitter account: “Coach & I are pleased to add Nick to our organization this season. A Commit, USA NTDP camp invite, & BCHL Champion. Excited to have the opportunity to further his development as a member of our team. Welcome to Jr Sabres !”

Kent, on his Twitter, stated: “Extremely excited to be part of the OJHL Buffalo Jr Sabres organization for the upcoming season! Can’t wait to get started!”

The 17-year-old native of Ladera Ranch, California, has already made his NCAA college hockey commitment, announcing in September 2016 his decision to commit to Quinnipiac University, beginning with the 2019-2020 season.

Prior to joining the Jr. Sabres, Kent skated for the Los Angeles Jr. Kings Bantam Minor squad in 2014-15, followed by three seasons with various levels with the Delta Hockey Academy and then Wenatchee in the 2017-18 season.
