George Argiropoulos stood on his head and made 27 saves to lead the St. Michaels Buzzers to a 3-1 victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.
St. Michaels was sparked by Ian Edmondson, who grabbed one goal. Edmondson scored on the power play 7:21 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Michaels. A roughing penalty on Ben Casale had put the Buzzers on the power play. Thomas Beretta provided the assist.
St. Michaels capitalized on Buffalo’s penalties, netting two goals while skating with a man advantage.
St. Michaels additionally got points from Ryan Kruss, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. St. Michaels also got a goal from Noah Jordan as well. More assists for St. Michaels came via Luca Doctor, Scott Teskey, Joseph Berton, and A.J. Dorazio, who contributed one each.
The Jr. Sabres could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Buffalo averages 3.2 goals per game.
The Jr. Sabres were led by Zach Evancho, who scored the team’s only goal. Evancho scored 2:10 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Buffalo. Brenden Dunning assisted on the tally.
The Buzzers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Alex Connal took the loss and made 10 saves before being replaced by Nate Skidmore who made eight saves. Buffalo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
