Buffalo Blanks Mississauga, 6-0

(Amherst, NY) – Parker Gahagen earned his third shutout of the OJHL season with a 24-save performance, while Pat Egan scored twice in the Buffalo Jr. Sabres’ 6-0 win over the Mississauga Chargers at the Northtown Center at Amherst on Tuesday night.

Tim Kielich opened the scoring with what proved to be the game winner at the 18:07 mark of the first period, assisted by Brian Ruff and Tony DeVito.  Egan scored his first goal just a minute and a half into the second period, tipping a shot from the point to make it 2-0.  Dylan Howatt and Nolan Sheeran set up the goal.  David Seward built the lead to 3-0 with his power play at the period’s 11:48 mark (assisted by Ryan Schmelzer and Sean Federow).

Just 21 seconds into the third period, Sheeran scored his own goal, deking a couple of Chargers before beating the Mississauga goalie.  Tim Kielich and Ben Casale assisted.  At the 8:53 mark, Ruff (in photo) scored his first OJHL goal, assisted by Nick Gullo and Tyler Gjurich.  Egan completed Buffalo’s scoring with his second goal of the game.

Gahagen earned his 13th win of the season.

The Jr. Sabres next travel to Oakville to meet the Blades on Saturday night, then host these same Blades at the Northtown Center on Tuesday, November 6.
