On February 21st the Jr. Sabres faced off against the Burlington Cougars, with Anthony Alessi getting the start in net. The Cougars would strike first and hold onto the 1-0 lead to finish the first period. Patrick Cole would score unassisted in the second period to tie the game back at 1-1. The Cougars responded with a short-handed goal to take back the lead. Haeden Ellis would answer for the Jr. Sabres to tie the game back at 2-2 assisted by Dylan Mcfadden. Danny Phelan would give the Jr. Sabres the lead to finish the second period, assisted by Ryan Shuler and Sam Christiano. The Jr. Sabres would hold onto the 3-2 lead to finish the second period. The Cougars would respond in the third period to tie the game back up at 3-3. Jaden Ward would give the Jr. Sabres the lead again with an unassisted power play goal. The Cougars would again tie it back up late to force the game to overtime. The Cougars would score in overtime to take the victory. Alessi made 28 saves in the Jr. Sabres loss.
On February 22nd the Jr. Sabres were on the road to take on the Leamington Flyers. The Jr. Sabres would quickly take the lead with a short-handed goal from Nick Shaw assisted by Zach Derito and Cameron Doran. Doran would get the Jr. Sabres second goal of the period with an assist from Tyler Isherwood. The Jr. Sabres would hold onto the 2-0 lead to finish the first period. The Flyers would answer with a power play goal in the second period to bring the game back within one. With the Jr. Sabres holding onto the 2-1 lead heading into the third period, Patrick Cole would seal the Jr. Sabres victory with an unassisted goal. Aiden McKenna made 21 saves in the Jr. Sabres road victory.
On February 24th the Jr. Sabres were back on the road to take on the Aurora Tigers. The first period was quiet between the Jr. Sabres and Tigers with no scoring. The Jr. Sabres would open the scoring halfway through the second with a goal from Doran assisted by Isherwood and Michael Kull. The game would remain 1-0 in favor of the Jr. Sabres before the Tigers would tie it back up early in the third period. Kull would answer for the Jr. Sabres with the ultimate game winning goal assisted by Isherwood and Carter Cwiklinski.
The Jr. Sabres remain in fourth place in the conference with 31-18-0-4 record and have secured their position in the playoffs.
Next up the Jr. Sabres are at home on March 1st against the Coburg Cougars at 7pm. This will be the Jr. Sabres final regular season home game and they will be honoring their OJHL Seniors in a special pregame ceremony.
