The Buffalo Jr. Sabres completed the 2018-2019 OJHL regular season recently, finishing second in the West Division. Overall, the Jr. Sabres went 27-17-2-8 on the season. With 64 points, they were able to secure a playoff spot and will face the Burlington Cougars in the first round of the Buckland Cup playoffs.
The Jr. Sabres were especially impressive on home ice this season, going 17-6-1-3 in games at HarborCenter / KeyBank Center. On the road, Buffalo went 10-11-1-5. Overall, the Jr. Sabres finished the regular season with a plus-8 goal differential (189/181) and a .593 winning percentage.
To no surprise, captain Adam Tretowicz led the team with 60 points in just 54 games. Tretowicz registered 26 goals and added 36 assists, and 1/3 of his points came on the power play. Tretowicz also made team history as he took the lead in all-time points for the Jr. Sabres franchise.
Declan McDonnell, a Providence commit, finished the regular season with 49 points, including 14 on the power play. Ty Glover, a Western Michigan commit, had 42 points in 47 games. Glover has been recognized by Hockey Canada and is on the NHL Draft watch list.
Jeremy Forman finished the season in net with a record of 15-15-0-2, with a 2.68 GAA and .910 save percentage. Though the Jr. Sabres had several goaltenders on their roster as the season wore on, Caleb Hannon finished the season with Buffalo. Hannon has appeared in seven games and gone 2-3-1-0 with a 3.71 GAA and .889 save percentage.
