Jr. Sabres Hold Back Chargers, 7-5

(Amherst, NY) – Seven different Buffalo Junior Sabres scored goals while backup goaltender Bobby Bloomfield earned his fourth win of the season as the hosts defeated the Mississauga Chargers, 7-5, Monday night at the Northtown Center at Amherst.
Pat Egan, Tyler Gjurich, Max Mikowski, Nathan Pelligra, Frank Hora, Ryan Schmelzer (in file photo) and Josh Kielich all scored goals. All but Mikowski and Pelligra did so on the power play. Schmelzer also recorded three assists, as did Gjurich, who also leads the OJHL in goal scoring with 27 tallies.
Bloomfield made 24 saves in his sixth start of the season, earning his fourth straight win.
The Jr. Sabres (22 wins, 8 losses and 2 shootout losses) will next play three road games in three nights, beginning Saturday, December 1 at Georgetown, which trails the Jr. Sabres by six points in the OJHL West Division with one game in hand.
