Jr. Sabres hold off surging Brampton, 4-3

(Brampton, ON) – The Junior Sabres jumped to a 4-1 lead only to see the host Brampton Capitals rally, but Buffalo held on to win the game, 4-3.

Nolan Sheeran opened the scoring at the 6:40 mark of the first period, with David Seward increasing Buffalo’s lead about two minutes later.  Derek Patterson increased that lead further before Tyson Street got the home team on the scoreboard in the second period.  Alex Dagnal then restored Buffalo’s three-goal lead with his own tally.

The Capitals scored twice in the third period, with Troy Crema and Nick Brusa getting the goals.  But Parker Gahagen and the Jr. Sabres preserved their slimmed lead to gain two points in the Ontario Junior Hockey League West Division standings.

The Jr. Sabres will return to action Monday night at home against the Stouffville Spirit.
