The Buffalo Jr. Sabres are proud to congratulate three players who have been named to the OJHL’s teams for the upcoming 2018 Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge, which will be held later this month.
Forwards Spencer Smith (02) and Ty Glover (00) and defenseman Anthony Hora (98) were all selected to participate.
Smith, who is currently playing for Canada Black with Hockey Canada at the World U-17 Challenge, has posted 19 points in as many games so far this season with the Jr. Sabres. The 16-year-old St. Catharines native is third on the team in goals (9), assists (10) and points. He has recorded eight points (3-5) in his last give games, including a pair of power-play goals and one game-winning goal.
Glover has posted an impressive 21 points (10-11) in 22 games this season, while Hora has been a crucial part of the Jr. Sabres’ defense core and has posted 12 points (3-9) in 17 games on the blueline. He had the game-winning goal in Buffalo’s 5-3 win over Markham on October 3 and has recorded six points (2-4) in his last five games.
Glover has recorded three points (1-2), including a pair of power-play assists, in his last five games.
Smith and Glover will suit up for OJHL Hawerchuk, while Hora will play on OJHL Oates. The trio will join 237 other players from across the CCHL, QJHL, MHL, NOJHL and OJHL to play in a tournament format from November 19-21 at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens, home rink of the OJHL’s Trenton Golden Hawks.
